Dr. Darren Barrus is a distinguished podiatrist with over three decades of experience in foot and ankle care. He earned his doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Des Moines University, College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in 1991. Following his medical training, Dr. Barrus completed a residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in sunny Tuscon, AZ, in 1992.
With a deep commitment to serving his country, Dr. Barrus proudly served as Podiatry Chief at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, during his tenure in the United States Army. He received his undergraduate education from Iowa State University and remains deeply connected to his roots in Iowa, often referring to it as "God's country."
Dr. Barrus is board-certified by both the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. He holds hospital affiliations with Shelby Baptist Medical Center, St. Vincent's Hospital, Brookwood Medical Center, MedPlex Outpatient Surgical Center, and Chilton Health Access Center.
